Social Media Coordinator

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

EcoWB is seeking a volunteer social media coordinator to serve as a responsible and proactive point of contact for collecting, organizing, scheduling, and posting online media regarding EcoWB’s activities. The volunteer in this role will request and edit appropriate digital media and share across social media platforms on a regular schedule. The social media coordinator role will work primarily with the EcoWB Marketing & Communications Committee, the Outreach Committee, and project managers and other volunteers as needed. The volunteer can undertake this work remotely, from their current location.


Responsibilities:


  • Regularly design, schedule, post, update, and manage social media posts such as photos and activity descriptions from other EcoWB volunteers 
  • Use mainstream social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and others in alignment with professional standards
  • Monitor and participate in dynamic, professional, and collaborative conversations and interactions with EcoWB’s social media connections
  • Regularly report impact of efforts (likes, follows, interactions, content themes and trends)
  • Maintain security of social media accounts by ensuring password privacy and following standard multi-factor authentication protocols
  • Participate in monthly meetings of the Marketing & Communications Committee


Requirements

  • Proven experience and familiarity with using mainstream social media including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube
  • Working knowledge of Canva, Photoshop, PicsArt, GIMP, Lightroom and/or other similar photo editing and digital graphic design tools
  • Proven creative writing ability
  • Availability to commit sufficient time to complete tasks as needed (variable, approximately 2-4 hours/week)
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction
  • Excellent written English communications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse global audiences 
  • Desirable Attributes
  • Experience promoting not-for-profit organizations via social media
  • Experience editing video with tools such as iMovie, Lightworks, YouTube Studio, or others
  • Experience with Google Trends and similar tools
