Facebook To Match Donations to EcoWB During Giving Tuesday Fundraiser 

Giving Tuesday is here, following, of course, Cyber Monday. To celebrate Giving Tuesday, we’ve created a Facebook Fundraiser where Facebook will match donations up to $7 million!  This is a first come first serve fundraiser starting at 5 am PST/8 am EST and Facebook will stop matching once the funds are gone – that means in order to take advantage of this opportunity we need donations early!  

As climate change and environmental damage continue to hinder the ecological and sustainable progress for many developing countries, we need to put as much resources together as we can to continue supporting projects like aiding Kenya’s efforts to fight invasive water hyacinth in beautiful Lake Victoria, and to develop new projects all over the world.  Without your donations, we wouldn’t have been able to help protect the key coastal mangrove forests in Sinaloa and Nayarit, Mexico to provide more sustainable fishing practices (and more jobs) for the local industry. Or help improve  scallop fisheries in Peru by working towards sustainable certification that will will recognize the Calico Scallop as a premium, well-managed seafood.  Even if you donate just one or two dollars, please keep in mind that with Facebook, it could be doubled. Your matched contribution has an outsized impact and could make the difference for people in our partner communities and for research on the ground.
